Honda Marine in Martinique
From the small portable for a dinghy to the 350 horsepower V8, the full Honda four-stroke outboard range. At Extreme Marine, in Le Robert, we help you choose the power, we install the engine, we service it and we keep the parts: the boat and its engine looked after by the same service shop.
Outboard power
The engine is half the boat
In the Caribbean, an outboard works hard: constant sun, salt, short swell and trips close together. What makes the difference over time is not only the brand, it is who does the repairs and where the parts are.
Honda Marine builds four-strokes only, from 2.3 hp up to the 350 hp V8. The high-power models carry VTEC variable valve timing, BLAST torque boost and ECOmo fuel management; the small portables play on weight, balance and easy starting.
At Extreme Marine, the engine is not an accessory sold on the side. We choose the power with you based on the hull and on how you plan to use the boat, we do the installation, then the servicing and the maintenance in the same service shop as the boat. Nobody sends you from one contractor to the next when something goes wrong.

The Honda Marine range
Four families, from portable to V8
The portables
The engines you carry by hand: dinghy, small inflatable, light hull or backup engine. Light, quiet, with a handle set at the balance point so you can carry them without hurting your back.

The mid-range engines
The heart of the market in the Caribbean: RIBs, open boats and small fishing or day-cruising hulls. This is where the balance between weight, fuel use and a cruising speed you can hold all day gets decided.

The V6
For hulls that go offshore and for twin installations. The V6 brings the power reserve that lets you get through a chop without pushing the engine to its limit. Its alternator is rated at 90 amps, enough to run the electronics on board.

What is inside
Four technologies that make a difference
VTEC
Valve timing and lift change with engine speed. In practice, the power builds cleanly from idle to full throttle, without the flat spot you feel on an engine with fixed timing.
BLAST
Torque management at low revs the moment you push the throttle. The boat gets on plane faster and reaches cruising speed without sitting back on its stern.
ECOmo
At steady cruise, the engine adjusts the air-fuel mixture to burn less. On a day trip between the islands, that is liters saved in the tank.
PGM-IG
On the portables, programmed ignition and the decompression system make starting crisp, even after several weeks without taking the boat out.
Being close by makes the difference
Buy your engine where it gets serviced
The service shop is on the island
Servicing, recommissioning, parts: your engine does not travel thousands of kilometers and your boat is not out of the water for weeks.
The right power
Too small and the engine strains and drinks fuel; too big and you pay for nothing. We choose with you based on the hull, the load and the way you actually use the boat.
One single contact
The boat, the engine and the maintenance handled in the same place, by the same people, in Le Robert, for the whole life of the boat.
